Don’t Touch the Dress

When I film weddings, I look for moments that are real. Unposed. Uninterrupted. The kind of moments where you and your partner are simply being—walking, laughing, holding hands, maybe sharing a quiet breath together. That’s why I always say this one thing: Don’t touch the dress. If it sits a little off, that’s okay. If the train isn’t perfectly fanned out, that’s okay too. What I don’t want is footage filled with people running in and out of frame—fixing the dress, straightening the veil, adjusting every crease. Whether it’s your mum, your celebrant, or your bridesmaids, constant fixing takes you out of the moment. And that’s the moment I want to capture. Those natural, organic shots where nothing is staged and everything is felt—that’s what makes a wedding film timeless. So let the dress sit how it wants to. Let the wind catch it. Let it be a little imperfect . Because love is never about perfection—it’s about presence.
